Water Spinach (lpomoea aquatica)

A fast growing vegetable that tastes similar to spinach.
PLANT IN A CONTAINER ! Can become invasive.

Used in Asian cuisine.

The plant has tender edible leaves.
The stems are hollow - cut off the bottom portion which can be tough. First cook the upper stems which require longer cooking times.
Water Spinach is used in stir-fries, curries, soups.
Nutrition: vitamins A, B, C and iron, calcium, & potassium
Plant thrives in aquatic environments.
Plant can grow up to 4 inches a day in ideal conditions
White Stemmed and Green Stemmed are the two types.
In the United States Winter Spinach is considered a weed in certain area of the US. Be careful and keep the plant contained.
