Sudden brightness from grow lights stress the plants.
ACCLAMATION is the Key
Don’t click on all the grow lights in your indoor garden area. It’s to sudden, to shocking, the plant cells and the photosynthetic process need to gradually occur. A plant can be damaged by sudden light changes.
If possible position your plants near a window. Allow the morning light to gradually wake up the plants. After the outside light has intensified to approximately pre- sunrise or sunrise light then you can start to turn on the indoor grow lights.
Ideally grow lights with timers and dimmers is the best solution to growing indoors. An average budget for an indoor garden might not have the money for sophisticated lighting. Let nature help you. I turn on my grow lights gradually.
Intense light will cause LEAF BURN.
I started growing indoors 5 years ago. Started with inexpensive lighting. Now my best investment has been 2ft long quality grow lights with dimmers. I purchased my 4 lights one at a time. I’ve adjusted my shelving and moved my plants over directly in front of the double windows in my grow room. I allow the sunrise and sunset to wake up my plants and put them to bed.
Finally, I block out light coming in the window at night. Plants need darkness. Refer to the Post “What Plants Do At Night”
